mantra review is an online & print journal of poetry published three times a year. We accept submissions year-round.

mantra review was established in 2017 by Samuel Binns, founder of Sutra Press, an independent micro-press that publishes chapbooks. Inspired by the ways of Alcheringa, a magazine of ethnopoetics, Mantra Review publishes prayers, visions and dreams, sacred narratives, histories, ritual scenarios, praises, namings, musings, and proverbs, all meant to be read aloud as mantras.

We are devoted to the exploration of spiritual yearning and rituals, whether they are religious, cultural, or personal. We hope to serve as a rite of passage to shift the shadowy parts of the self. We ultimately aspire to dispel fear and its many manifestations.
